Baripada: Panic gripped patients at Pandit Raghunath Murmu Medical College & Hospital at Baripada in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district after fire broke out in the hospital’s mental ward on Monday evening.
Several documents and an air-conditioner were gutted, eyewitnesses said.
The incident took place at around 9 pm.
Fire Services personnel rushed to the spot and doused the flames before it could spread to other wards, hospital sources said.
While exact cause of the fire was not immediately known, fire officials suspect a short-circuit to be the reason.
