Bhubaneswar: A major fire broke out in a vending zone located at Patia here on Saturday afternoon.
As many as 16 shops were reduced to ashes in the mishap. However, no one was injured.
Receiving a call from the shopkeepers, fire personnel rushed to the spot and doused the blaze with the help of locals within an hour.
Though the cause of the fire is yet to be known, locals suspected that the blaze started when garbage lying besides the vending zone was being burnt.
