Bhubaneswar: To gauge its preparedness and make public aware of the ways to tackle possible fire mishaps at crowded shopping malls and buildings, a mock drill was conducted by fire department at BMC Bhawani Mall here on Thursday.
The fire personnel demonstrated different methods to douse flames and rescue persons trapped inside a building.
“Mock drills are being conducted at the mall every month to prepare the employees to respond quickly and effectively to workplace fire mishaps and make visitors aware of the safety measures,” a fire official informed.
Fire department staff and that of Bhawani Mall participated in the drill.
