Rourkale: Grocery and gift items worth lakhs were reduced to ashes in a massive fire, which broke out at a market in Odisha’s Rourkela on Friday morning.
According to sources, locals spotted the fire in the gourmet store on the ground floor of Suruchi Bazaar at Civil Township area around 7 am and alerted showroom owner and the fire service department. Five units of Odisha Fire Service and one from Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) were pressed into service to douse the flames, while preventing it from spreading to upper floors.
