Fire In Hospital SNCU In Odisha’s Koraput Triggers Panic, Infants Evacuated Safely

Koraput: A fire was reported from Shahid Laxman Naik Medical College and Hospital (MCH) in Koraput on Friday.

The fire broke out in special new born care unit (SNCU) inside the Maternal and Child Care wing of the hospital, and is suspected to have started from a short circuit.

According to sources, there were around 42 infants in the ward when the mishap took place. The newborns along with pregnant women were later evacuated to a safe location.

Police and firemen rushed to the spot and were able to bring the situation under control.
