Bhubaneswar: Childline officials directed by Child Welfare Committee on Friday visited Hotel Pal Heights owner Satpal Singh’s residence to probe the death of domestic help Tanu Das aka Khusi Das, a minor.
She along with four members of Satpal’s family had died in a devastating fire that engulfed second floor of the three-storey house on August 3.
According to reports, the officials questioned the family members about Tanu and her nature of job.
“Satpal Singh has assured us that he will cooperate in the investigation. He said Khusi/Tanu was hired by his younger son and daughter-in-law, who were killed in the fire mishap,” said Rulina, a member of Childline, speaking to media.
This was for the second time that the officials visited Satpal’s house. Earlier in the day, they were not allowed inside by the security guard as family members had gone out. The officials again visited the house once they were home.
