Bhubaneswar: Fire department officials conducted the inspection of fire safety standards at 10 Bhubaneswar-based shopping malls on Saturday.
The move came after a massive fire broke out at Venus Daily Mart located at Damana area two days ago.
The surprise inspection was carried out by ten teams at prominent shopping malls including Big Bazaar, Bhawani Mall and Pantaloons to check whether the authorities have complied with the fire safety norms or not.
“Action will be taken against those who have floated the fire safety rules which can lead to major fire mishaps”, a senior official informed.
