Bhubaneswar: The Fire department conducted a mock drill at Capital Hospital in Bhubaneswar on Thursday to scale the preparedness and promote awareness to tackle possible fire mishaps.
The Fire personnel demonstrated different methods to douse flames and rescue persons trapped inside the hospital with the help of skylift machine. The mock drills were conducted in Obstetrics and Gynecology Department.
The security personnel as well as the staff nurses of the Capital Hospital were also trained about different safety measures to prevent fire mishap and immediate steps to be taken to save the patients in the campus.
It is pertinent to mention here that a fire broke out at the MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Berhampur on August 26. All patients were moved out to safety and there were no casualties.
An electric short circuit was suspected to have caused the fire. Fire services personnel doused the blaze with the help of a skylift machine.
