Bhubaneswar: Fire Services personnel will launch an indefinite state-wide strike from Friday over their four-point charter of demands.

Their demands include equal salary and pension to fire personnel as provisioned for Odisha Police, abolition of contractual appointment and government registration of the association of the fire personnel. Over 5000 personnel of fire services from 341 stations across the state are expected to participate.

Talks over these demands with the state government had failed in September last year.
