Bhadrak: Over 2,000 fowls were charred to death after a fire broke out in a poultry farm located at Laxmidaspur Chhack in Bhadrak district late on Sunday.
Property worth several lakhs of rupees was destroyed in the mishap.
Fire fighters rushed to the spot after being informed about the incident and doused the blaze, but could not save the livestock due to the high-intensity fire.
“The cause of the fire is likely to be electrical short circuit,” a fire official informed.
