Fire Service Havildar Throws Boiling Water At Constable For Arriving Late In Odisha’s Bangriposhi

Baripada: A Fire Service Havildar allegedly threw a pot of boiling water on a constable at Bangiriposhi fire station in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district on Sunday.

The injured constable, Dushant Dehury, was said to have frequently been late to the barracks for which the in-charge Havildar was annoyed with him, sources said.

On Sunday night, the Havildar Nutan Mallick, allegedly dumped boiling water on Dehury instead of reporting the matter to higher authorities, sources said.

Soon after Dehury arrived at the barrack, Nutan got involved in a fight with the former and threw boiling water at him. Mallick allegedly kept the boiling water ready as a warning to Dehury, the sources added.

The injured constable was rushed to the local hospital and then shifted to the district headquarters hospital for further treatment.
