Jajpur: Cuttack Central Range Fire Department suspended fire station officer of Chandikole in Jajpur district after an audio recording of his conversation with a young woman, seeking sexual favours, went viral on social media.
The officer has been identified as Rama Kanta Mallik (45).
A fireman Kedar Sethi of the same fire station has also been suspended by the department for his alleged complicity in the incident.The suspended fire personnel will remain at the headquarters during the suspension period, the department letter stated.
The officer of Bari block fire station will be in-charge of Chandikhole Fire Station till further order, it added.
