Firing By Miscreants At Railway Colony Triggers Panic In Odisha’s Jharsuguda

Jharsuguda: Panic gripped the railway colony in Odisha’s Jharsuguda after unidentified miscreants resorted to indiscriminate gunfire.

As per information, some miscreants opened fire at a house located in the railway colony late on Saturday night. Locals said at least six rounds were fired at the house. Gunshot marks could be seen on some structures of the house.

While no one was injured in the firing, the incident has triggered panic among local residents.
As per locals, the incident may have links with a fight between two groups during the Ganesh Puja immersion procession.

While the exact motive behind the firing is yet to be established, the police have launched an investigation to identify the miscreants. A forensic team has recovered empty cartridges from the premises.

The Government Railway Police (GRP) is also looking into the incident and efforts are on to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the firing.
