Bhubaneswar: Durga Puja marks the homecoming of goddess Durga and is a major festival in the twin cities. The grandeur and charm is no less in other parts of the country too.
A lot goes into organising pujas and setting up of pandals. Along with the rituals and celebrations, care has to be taken to maintain law and order. Crowd management is perhaps the most vital aspect during such festivities. Special arrangements have to be made to ensure smooth inflow and outflow of the devotees.
In this connection, the Health and Family Welfare Minister Pratap Jena handed over special first-aid box to Khan-Nagar Puja Committee, Cuttack in the presence of Cuttack MP, Dr Bhartruhari Mahatab. Later, these first-aid boxes were also distributed to other puja pandals of the twin cities.
The first-aid boxes have been prepared by AMRI Hospitals on the occasion of the festive season.
Speaking about the initiative, C.L.N. Reddy, unit head and vice president of AMRI Hospitals, Bhubaneswar, said, “Durga Puja signifies the “Victory of Virtue over Vice”. But people should assure their good health during festive season. They should obey the rules made by the administration and puja committees to avoid unnecessary rush and stampedes. First-aid treatment facilities are highly necessary in all the puja mandaps to avoid untoward situations during the festive season.”
“As a special gesture, AMRI Hospitals Bhubaneswar has been providing special first-aid boxes to the Durga Puja mandaps of the twin cities, Cuttack and Bhubaneswar and organising basic health camps at some places to make the people to not to forget their health in times of festivities,” said Dilip Kumar Patro, AVP, G&D, AMRI Hospitals.
