Bhubaneswar: The importance of medical records was underlined at a program organised to celebrate the first National Medical Records Day, introduced by the Health Records Association of India this year, at the SUM Ultimate Medicare (SUMUM) here on Tuesday.
All the heads of departments and faculties at the hospital attended the event. Brig. (Dr) Biraj Mohan Mishra, Chief of Medical Services, was the chief guest, and Dr P.K. Panda, Medical Superintendent of the hospital, was the guest of honour.
Dr Manas Ranjan Sethi, head of the Medical Records Department, who addressed the gathering said that medical records are an integral part of the
healthcare industry’s administrative system and the hardships of the medical record professionals needed to be appreciated.
“The contribution of the medical records department in the healthcare industry has been immense. Starting from running the administration to rendering effective service to the patients, medical records have a crucial role to play. It is our duty to take a few moments out of our busy schedule and appreciate the work of these unsung heroes of the industry,” he said.
