Bhubaneswar: Senior IAS officer Roopa Roshan Sahoo on Wednesday took charge as Secretary to Odisha Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati.
The 2006-batch officer is the first woman IAS officer to be appointed to this position in the state.
Tuesday saw a massive rejig at the IAS-level in Odisha with 49 officers being assigned new responsibilities. Among those transferred was Sahoo, who was serving as RDC (southern division). She replaced NBS Rajput, who was holding additional charge as Secretary to Odisha Governor.
Sahoo had earlier served as Commission-cum-Secretary, SC ST Development, Minorities and Backward Classes Welfare Department, and Special Secretary to the Chief Minister.
