Fish Weighing ‘Over 10 Quintals’ In Odisha’s Hirakud Reservoir!

Sambalpur: A giant fish was spotted by fishermen in the Hirakud dam reservoir in the district.

According to reports, the fishermen had gone fishing in the reservoir as its water level had gone up due to rain in upper catchment area and release from Chhattisgarh. While fishing, they spotted the huge fish near the new spillway of the dam.

They estimated its weight to be more than 10 quintals though could not specify its species. They claimed that they had never seen such a huge fish in their liefetime.

Later, the local fishermen informed the officials of the Fishery department about the giant fish. The Fishery officials have reportedly told them that they would ascertain the species of the fish and its source of migration.
