Bhadrak: A human skull and several bones were found under a culvert by a group of fishermen in Odisha’s Bhadrak district on Tuesday.
According to sources, the fishermen were fishing under a culvert near Sanskrit College in Betada under Basudevpur police limits in the district on the day. When they drew the net to check the catch, they found that a human skull was caught in their net.
They raised an alarm and informed Basudevpur police about the incident. Hundreds of people from nearby villages also gathered there.
A police team along with scientific team and Fire services personnel rushed to the spot. The Fire personnel started scanning under the culvert, which is connected to a canal. They recovered a sack filled with human bones.
Police told the media that they had not received any missing complaint from the locality in recent times. It is suspected that the skull and bones belonged to somebody from outside. Somebody might have killed him and dumped the body under the culvert.
More details about the victim would be known after the scientific team examined the bones and skull and submitted their report, they added.
