Puri: Local fishermen rescued six tourists from drowning in the sea here on Friday. Search for one missing tourist was on.
As per reports, seven tourists from Bokaro in neighbouring Jharkhand were bathing in the sea when the mishap occurred. Some fishermen spotted the tourists and rescued six.
The flow of tourists to Puri increased after the easing of lockdown restrictions across the country. Tourists from other parts of the country, mostly nieghbouring states, are visiting Puri to have a darshan on Lord Jagannath.
The footfall has seen a further rise after the temple administration lifted restrictions on mandatory COVID-19 negative certificate.
