Paradip: Around eight fishermen reportedly went missing after their boat capsized in the sea at Paradip in Odisha’s Jagatsinghpur district on Tuesday.
According to sources, the mishap took place near Nehru Bungalow when the fishermen were returning after fishing. Around eight fishermen on board were reported to have gone missing.
Local fishermen have launched a search and rescue operation after the mishap. Efforts are on to rescue the fishermen.
As per preliminary information, the fishing boat named ‘Maa Basulei Bharasa’, while returning to the shore capsized after being hit by a powerful tide near Nehru Bungalow.
Personnel of the Marine Police and ODRAF were stated to have reached the spot to carry out a rescue operation. Further details are awaited.
