Puri: Five persons were arrested from a hotel located on Marine Drive Road on Saturday in connection with an attempt to murder case.
The accused, identified as Mohammad Armaan, Azad Alam, Murak Hak, Faizal Hak and Sheikh Shahenshah, had been absconding since August 22 after a failed attempt to kill Kolkata-based businessman Ahmad Parvez.
They had allegedly shot at Pervez in Park Circus area on Monday night. However, he along with another person escaped bid on life with bullet injuries, police sources said.
After receiving information regarding their presence in Puri, Baniapukar police of Kolkata raided different places, including the hotel, and managed to nab them.
The accused will be produced in a court in Puri and later taken to Kolkata, the sources added.
