Bhubaneswar: Petrol and diesel prices have been increased yet again. Sunday’s hike is the sixth in five days.
The price of petrol has been increased by 54 paise per litre and diesel by 59 paise per litre in Bhubaneswar.
Petrol in the state capital now costs Rs 105.93 per litre and diesel Rs 95.72 per litre.
The Centre started increasing the rates of petrol and diesel from March 22. Prices had been on a freeze since November 4 ahead of the Assembly elections.
To protest against the hikes in fuel prices and its effect on retail inflation, the Congress on Saturday called a ‘Mehngai Mukt Bharat Abhiyan’.
Rallies, marches and protests will be organised across the country from March 31 to April 7, targeting the BJP government at the Centre.
