Bhubaneswar: Five disciplines of the Institute of Medical Sciences and SUM Hospital, the faculty of medicine of the SOA Deemed to be University, have been ranked No. 1 facilities provided by private/corporate hospitals in the multi-specialty category locally.
Additionally, three of its departments were among top 20 in India as per the annual Times Health Survey published on Wednesday.
The survey was conducted for nine disciplines at the national, regional and local level. According to its findings, departments of Gastroenterology & Hepatology, Urology, Neuro Sciences, Obstetrics & Gynaecology and Emergency & Trauma Care retained their top positions in Bhubaneswar.
The departments of Pediatrics, Oncology and Cardio Sciences were placed second while the department of Nephrology was No. 3.
The departments of Pediatrics, Urology and Neuro Sciences were ranked 13th, 17th and 20th, respectively, at the national level.
IMS and SUM Hospital’s department of Urology was ranked 2nd in the eastern region, while the departments of Paediatrics, Neuro Sciences and Emergency & Trauma Care were ranked 3rd at the regional level.
The department of Gastroenterology & Oncology was placed 4th in the eastern region, while Cardio Sciences was at 5th and Obstetrics & Gynaecology 6th.
