Bhubaneswar: Five girls of KISS, Sumitra Nayak, Soni Mandangi, Lija Sardar, Jemamani Naik and Parbati Kisku, have been selected in the Indian national rugby team to participate in the Youth Olympic Games Asia Qualifiers to be held in Dubai from November 29. The team will proceed for Dubai on November 28, said a press release on Monday.
USA Sevens Rugby head coach Mike Friday has been training the rugby India U-17 girls’ team in Mumbai for the past week as they gear up to participate in the two-day Youth Olympic Games Asia Qualifiers. The camp was held at Bombay Gymkhana, Mumbai, from November 7 to 26.
Founder of KISS Achyuta Samanta, in a press statement, congratulated the players on their selection and said KISS has always promoted sports, for which their players are being chosen for different national teams.
