Nayagarh: Tension gripped Khuntubandha village under Nuagaon police
station limits in Nayagarh district on Friday after a violent clash
broke out between two groups on Friday.
At least five people from both sides were injured when both the groups
pelted stones at each other as a wordy dual snowballed into a clash.
Those injured were admitted to Mahipur hospital for treatment.
Two media persons, who were covering the incident, were detained by
the agitators for nearly three hours and their cameras were damaged.
Later, they were released after police personnel reached the spot and
dispersed the crowd.
According to villagers, the incident took place over construction of
the boundary wall of an Anganwadi Centre.
Adequate numbers of police personnel were deployed in the locality to
prevent any untoward incident.
