Five Killed In Multiple Road Accidents Across Odisha



Bhubaneswar: At least five people were killed in separate road accidents in different parts of Odisha..

Reports of fatal accidents, including one involving a truck crashing into a house, were received from Dhenkanal, Puri and Nayagarh districts of the state.

In Dhenkanal, one person was killed after a truck rammed into a house at Hatibari village under the jurisdiction of Gandia police station in the district on Thursday night.

Sources said an eighteen-wheeler tr

uck first collided with a tractor late at night and then crashed into a nearby house. The vehicle broke through the wall of the house and entered the structure, killing one person sleeping inside the house. The victim was identified as Asthir Tarai.

Police reached the spot soon after receiving information and have started an investigation into the circumstances that led to the accident.

In another incident, two motorcycle riders died and another was critically injured after a Hyva truck hit a to-wheeler at the Dandamukundpur bypass on the Bhubaneswar-Puri National Highway.
Following the collision, one critically injured person was shifted to Capital Hospital for treatment. The identities of the deceased are yet to be established.

In yet another mishap, two youths died after the motorcycle they were riding dashed against a tree in Bhapur area of Nayagarh district.
