Five More From Balasore Test Positive For COVID-19; Odisha’s Tally 79

Bhubaneswar: Five more persons tested positive for COVID-19 in Odisha on Monday, which had earlier seen five cases from Jajpur and one from Sundargarh.

All the five new cases have been detected in Balasore, according to Health and Family Welfare Department data.

On Sunday, two persons from the district had tested positive for the virus. One among them was a two-year-old girl. A 58-year-old man from Balasore town had also contracted the infection and his samples were found infected on April 18.

Odisha’s cases count has now gone up to 79. With 24 persons having recovered from the disease and one death, the number of active cases in the state is 53.

District-Wise Positive Cases

Balasore: 8; Bhadrak: 8; Jajpur: 7; Kendrapada: 2; Khurda: 46; Cuttack: 1; Dhenkanal: 1; Puri: 1; Sundargarh: 3 and Kalahandi: 2.
