Bhubaneswar: Odisha witnessed a steep rise in COVID-19 cases this month and five districts of Ganjam, Jajpur, Balasore, Khurda and Bhadrak alone account for over 1000 of the total 1660 cases in the state.
Ganjam leads with 394 positive cases. Among them, 302 patients have recovered so far. The district has witnessed three COVID-19 deaths.
Jajpur is second with 253 cases followed by Balasore at 139. These districts has seen 151 and 119 recoveries respectively.
Khurda is fourth with 110 positive cases and among them, 58 patients have recovered so far. The virus has claimed three lives in this district.
Bhadrak has so far reported 106 cases and 74 among them have recovered from the infection.
The virus has spread its tentacles to 29 of the 30 districts, sparing only Rayagada.
With 887 patients having been fully cured, the state now has 766 active cases.
