Rourkela: Five students were taken ill during the Independence Day parade rehearsal at Ispat Stadium in Rourkela on Saturday.
They were rushed to the Community Welfare Centre and later, shifted to the Ispat General Hospital (IGH) after their condition deteriorated.
According to the sources, the students of MGM English Medium School were rehearsing for the parade in the afternoon when five among them fell ill due to high humidity (85 per cent) in the Steel City. One of the student in undergoing treatment in the intensive care unit (ICU) of the hospital.
The parents alleged that the students fell ill due to the carelessness attitude and negligence of the school authorities.
