Ahmedabad: A five-time Congress MLA and former minister died on Monday of COVID-19.
Anil Joshiyara, a surgeon by profession, had won from Bhiloda constituency in Gujarat’s Arvalli district from 1995. He contracted coronavirus in January and was shifted from a private hospital in Ahmedabad to Chennai a month ago for advanced treatment of the lungs, reported PTI.
The Gujarat Assembly was adjourned for the day after observing two minutes’ silence in memory of the 69-year-old Joshiyara, who served as Health minister in 1996-1997.
