Cuttack: A five-year-old boy was killed and his parents suffered grievous injuries after the wall of their house collapsed on them at Bharandi village in Agrahat panchayat of Cuttack district late on Saturday.
According to available information, the incident took place when the child was sleeping with his father and mother. Suddenly, the wall of the house caved in and they were crushed under it.
The child died on the spot while his father and mother were rescued by neighbours in a critical condition this morning. They were immediately rushed to SCB Medical College and Hospital here for treatment. Their condition is stated to be stable.
Locals told police that dilapidated condition of the structure led to the mishap. However, an inquiry has been launched by police to ascertain the exact cause of the wall collapse.
