Cuttack: Five young boys on a visit to a waterfall got lost in a forest in Odisha’s Dhenkanal district on Sunday.
According to sources, the five boys, who are friends, belong to Link Road area in Cuttack city. They are Arakshit Mohapatra, Subam Mohapatra, Himasu Das, Sujit Sahu and Lucky Dash. They had gone on a picnic to the waterfall in Saptasajya of Dhenkanal district in the morning.
While trekking in the nearby forest, the boys lost their way. As they could not come out of the dense forest till late afternoon, they contacted their families over mobile phone and sought help to rescue them.
The families approached the local police in Cuttack for immediate help. Cuttack police contacted their counterparts in Dhenkanal and a search operation was launched by the latter along with Forest officials.
The search team was trying to trace the boys, who are students, from their mobile phones. The missing boys had also sent their pictures from the spot to the police. The search operation was going on till night, but the team had not traced the boys.
