Bhubaneswar: Worldwide Microsoft outage has affected the services at the Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA) in Bhubaneswar.
According to sources, the major technical glitch has affected flight booking and check-ins at the BPIA.
The passengers were being provided manual support and services as the computers are not working. This has delayed flights take-offs and landing at the airport, sources added.
A passenger travelling to Bengaluru said airline staff requested him for cancelling ticket and refund fare. “I have to go and join work. We understand this is a global phenomenon, but the sudden cancellation has affected me as well as hundreds of passengers flying from Bhubaneswar,” he said.
An architect-duo travelling to Mumbai were stranded at the Bhubaneswar airport for four hours. They said that the airlines had no clue about when their flight would take off, or whether they can even fly to Mumbai today.
“All work is being done manually and the situation is really bad. We have a lot of work in pipeline, and everything has got disrupted due to this worldwide outage,” they said.
