Flip-Flop On Vacation End Date Keeps Odisha Students Confused

Bhubaneswar: Even as students and guardians in Odisha remained on tenterhooks regarding the reopening of schools after the summer vacation, the state administration continued with its flip-flop on the date.

On Thursday, the Odisha government reversed its earlier order and directed the opening of all schools from Friday.

In its latest notification, the School and Mass Education department said the government had earlier notified the opening of all schools on June 18. It had, however, decided to extend the summer vacation till June 25 in view of the prevailing heat wave conditions across Odisha.

But keeping the change in the weather condition with the onset of the pre-monsoon rain in the state, it has been decided to open the schools on June 21, the notification added.
