Cuttack: Panic has gripped residents of Naraj area in Cuttack district following the death of about 15 sheep by an unknown predator late on Saturday night.
According to reports, Bairagi Das of Gopala Sahi village under Naraj police limit had kept 17 sheep inside the pen of his house.
Early Sunday morning, he found 15 sheep lying dead and two sheep missing.
A veterinary team from Cuttack arrived at the village for an investigation following the incident.
The family members suspect that the sheep have been killed by an unknown predator.
However, the team is yet to figure out the cause of the death.
The post-mortem of the sheep will be conducted later in the day, the team members said.
