Jajpur: Flood’s fury in Brahmani River has wreaked havoc in Odisha’s Jajpur submerging about 530 villages on Saturday.
With low lying areas submerged in floodwaters, about 25,000 people have been evacuated and sheltered in safe places.
Four ODRAF and two NDRF teams have also been deployed in six blocks here.
On Friday, with the water level of the Brahmani River constantly rising, the local administration sounded the flood alert and advised the people living in low land to move to high land.
