Konaseema: Andhra Pradesh is one of the badly-affected states amid the ongoing monsoon fury lashing several parts of India.
Roads have been flooded, villages have been inundated. But nature’s fury failed to deter a young woman from getting married.
The bride in Andhra’s Konaseema district had two options – to ask for a postponement of marriage or brave the floods.
She chose to be brave and took a boat along with family members to reach the wedding venue, ANI reported.
The bride’s family was stranded due to heavy rain and waterlogging, and had no clue how to reach the venue. They were in for a surprise as the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) came forward to extend a helping hand.
SDRF personnel who were supervising relief and rescue work in the area mobilised a team to help them into boats and push them through the submerged roads en route to where the groom’s family was waiting.
There were smiles all around as the couple managed to exchange wedding vows on Friday.
