Floodwater Discharge At Munduli Gradually Reduces

Sambalpur: Mahanadi floodwater discharge at Munduli on Wednesday has reduced to 7. 83 lakh cusecs from the peak of 10.26 lakh cusecs at 9 am as recorded during the flood, Special Relief Commissioner (SRC), Pradeep Jena informed.

It was earlier reduced by 2.2 lakh cusecs. Hirakud Dam authorities have closed all the sluice gates keeping only 24 open.

The water level in the dam recorded was 625.31 feet against the optimal storage capacity of 630 feet.

While the inflow and outflow of water were recorded at 3,74,612 cusecs/second and 4,26,000 cusecs/second, respectively.
