Bhubaneswar: The Flying Squad Team–4 and Video Surveillance Team conducted a detailed inspection of the flight and helicopter used by Leader of the Opposition and BJD president Naveen Patnaik during his campaign rally in Odisha’s Nuapada on Monday.
In a post on X, Nuapada Collector & DEO said that the inspection was carried out as part of Model Code of Conduct (MCC) enforcement measures in view of the by-election scheduled for November 11.
Naveen stepped into the political spotlight on Monday as he addressed a massive election rally at Tarabod’s Dhanmandi Ground in Komna block, seeking votes for party candidate Snehangini Chhuria.
With stakes high in this battle of prestige and legacy, the five-time chief minister, who usually skipped campaigning during bypolls, launched a blistering attack on the ruling BJP, accusing it of ‘vote chori’ to gain power in the state and poaching its candidate, referring to its probable candidate Jay Dholakia entering the saffron fold within weeks of his father and sitting BJD MLA Rajendra Dholakia’s death, which necessitated the bypoll.
