Mumbai: Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman was shown black flags during her visit to Mumbai on Sunday.
The protesters, most of whom were learnt to be Congress workers, were vocal against the Union Budget which was presented by Sitharaman on February 1, reported PTI. They also protested against rising prices of essential commodities like petrol, diesel and cooking gas as well as railway fares.
As the Finance minister reached Yogi Sabha Grah in Dadar for an interaction on the Budget, around around 500 Congress workers shouted slogans against her, a police official informed. It was a pre-planned protest, as they had been assembling outside Dadar railway station since early morning.
The protesters were stopped at a distance from the venue of Nirmala’s programme.
