New Delhi: Union Minister for Finance & Corporate Affairs Nirmala Sitharaman will engage with Naveen Patnaik and chief ministers of other states, state Finance ministers and Lt Governors of Union Territories via virtual conference mode on November 15.
Union Secretaries, Chief Secretaries and Finance Secretaries of states will also be joining the conference.
With the Indian economy picking up in the first quarter of current fiscal after it had slowed down considerably during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Finance minister wants to embark on a collaborative growth vision and encourage an open exchange of ideas centred on enhancing the investment climate in the country.
According to a press release of the Finance ministry, Sitharaman will attempt to create a policy discourse and facilitative environment for inward investment-led growth through the interaction.
The states will be encouraged to share their ideas and vision for enhancing the investment climate, leading to a broad consensus vis-à-vis the trajectory needed for India to become the fastest-growing economy.
