Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate Police (CP) has decided to intensify enforcement of COVID-19 guidelines at shopping malls and public places to check the rise in cases. Heavy fines would also be imposed for violators of the guidelines.
The CP took the decision following a sudden spike in COVID-19 cases and many people not adhering to COVID-19 norms in the capital.
Bhubaneswar DCP Umashankar Dash on Monday said surveillance will be intensified at crowded places like markets and shopping malls in the city.
He also warned of action against those found violating the norms of mask-wearing and social distancing. The police will also fine people found violating the guidelines, he added.
