Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) has appealed to the people to strictly follow COVID protocols though the daily cases in the city have come down.
In a video release on Friday, BMC additional commissioner Laxmikant Sethi said following the COVID protocols like wearing face mask and maintaining social distance in public places and washing hands frequently can only check the spread of the disease.
Seeking people’s cooperation in this regard, Sethi said, “We will continue our fight against the disease till daily cases come down to zero. Till then, we should not be complacent and should follow all the restrictions that are announced time to time.”
“Though the intensity of the disease has come down and daily cases are not alarming, it should not lead us to lower our guards,” he said.
The daily COVID caseload has remained below 200 in the city for almost a month. While 159 daily cases were reported on Thursday, 112 new patients were identified on Wednesday, 171 on Tuesday and 113 on Monday, according to BMC.
