Cuttack; With rush of customers expected in markets and commercial establishments for shopping ahead of Durga Puja, Police Commissioner Sudhanshu Sarangi directed the bazaar committees in the city to take preventive steps against spread of COVID-19.
At a meeting with Cuttack city bazaar committees to tackle the surge of COVID-19 cases, the Police Commissioner laid emphasis on following the government protocols on the matter.
He told the committees to take the help of volunteers to prevent crowding and maintain social distancing inside the shops and stalls. They can also put up barricades in this regard, he added.
Sarangi further said if necessary, the committees can take the help of police to ensure that the COVID-19 guidelines are strictly followed at the commercial establishments.
