Boudh: Odisha’s Food Supplies & Consumer Welfare Minister Krushna Chandra Patra on Thursday conducted surprise visits to a rice mill and a godown in Boudh district and carried out inspection along with senior officials, said sources.
The minister’s visit followed allegations of irregularities and complaints regarding quality and quantity of rice supplied by the mill and a godown being operated under Private Entrepreneur Guarantee (PEG) Scheme, sources added.
Minister Patra has ordered a probe into the allegations and directed officials to submit reports within a stipulated period. The minister has further said that action will be taken in this case if allegations are proven true.
