Bhubaneswar: BJP MP Aparajita Sarangi on Wednesday came down heavily on Odisha government for its failure to rope in COVID vaccine manufacturing companies in the global tender.
In a statement, Sarangi said the state government had floated a global tender to invite the COVID vaccine manufacturing companies from India and abroad to participate in the bidding for the supply of the vaccines to meet the vaccination target in the state.

“However, the efforts of the state government did not materialise as not a single company took part in the bidding. The non-participation of these companies speaks volume of the inability of the state government. The state government should have a meeting with these companies before floating the tender,” she pointed out.
Stating that the state government has requested the Centre to urgently intervene in this matter as the vaccine manufacturing companies have sought statutory clearance from the Centre for the supply of vaccines, Sarangi said the state government will have to wait for the decision of the Centre.
