For Third Day, Balasore Reports Highest COVID Deaths In Odisha

Bhubaneswar: Odisha reported 19 COVID-19 deaths on Wednesday, taking the overall toll to 8,945.

After reporting over 20 deaths for 12 days, the figure has dropped marginally.

Odisha had seen 23 deaths on February 4, 22 on February 5, 23 on February 6, 20 on February 7, 21 on February 8, 22 on February 9, 21 on February 10, 20 on February 11, 24 on February 12, 22 on February 13, 21 on February 14 and 22 on February 23.

Among the new deaths, the highest of six are from Balasore.

Details of deceased:

1.A 41 years old male of Balasore district.

2.An 80 years old female of Balasore district.

3.An 80 years old male of Balasore district who was also suffering from Diabetes Mellitus & Hypertension.

4.A 65 years old female of Balasore district.

5.A 50 years old male of Balasore district.

6.An 88 years old male of Balasore district who was also suffering from Hypothyroid, Coronary Artery Disease, Bed Sore, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease.

7.A 71 years old male of Bhubaneswar who was also suffering from Coronary Artery Disease & Severe Left Ventricular Dysfunction.

8.A 55 years old female of Bhubaneswar who was also suffering from Diabetes Mellitus & Hypertension.

9.An 80 years old male of Bhubaneswar who was also suffering from Anaemia.

10.A 63 yaers old male of Bhubaneswar who was also suffering from Diabetes Mellitus & Hypertension.

11.A 75 years old male of Bhubaneswar who was also suffering from Hypertension & Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease.

12.A 48 years old male of Ganjam district who was also suffering from Chronic Kidney Disease on Maintenance Hemodialysis, Fistula & Hypertension.

13.A 50 years old male of Keonjhar district who was also suffering from Hypertension.

14.An 18 years old male of Kendrapara district.

15.A 36 years old male of Nayagarh district who was also suffering from Decompensated Chronic Liver Disease, Chronic Kidney Disease, Massive Ascitis.

16.A 45 years old female of Nuapada district.

17.A 55 years old male of Nuapada district who was also suffering from Acute Myocardial Infarction.

18.A 30 years old female of Nuapada district.

19.A 30 years old male of Subarnapur who was also suffering from Chronic Kidney Disease, Hypertension & Status Epilepticus.

After reporting fatalities in single digits till January 27 and none the following day, the state crossed double figures with 10 deaths on January 28 and another 15 on January 29. The COVID tally was 19 on January 30 and 18 on January 31.

While 23 deaths were confirmed on February 4, the details of the patients were not shared on the official handle of the state Health department and this was also the case on February 3 when 18 casualties were reported. Odisha had seen 19 casualties on February 2 and among them were three children aged 4, 14 and 15 years and 17 on February 1.
