Forest Guard Shot Dead In Odisha’s Balangir

Titlagarh: An on-duty forest guard was shot dead by unidentified miscreants in Rengalibahal area in Saintala Forest Range on Friday night.

According to sources, Forester Jugeshwar Budek was on a night patrol in Rengalibahal forest when some miscreants suddenly opened fire at him. In which, one bullet hit his lower abdomen.

The other forest guards rushed to the spot and took him to the community health centre (CHC) at Saintala where the doctors declared him as brought dead.

Talking to the media, Saintala Forest Range Officer Raj Kishore Harpal said that a search operation is underway with the local police to nab the miscreants.
