Angul: Two persons allegedly attacked the assistant conservator of forests (ACF), Basudev Nayak, inside his office here on Wednesday.
According to available information, Pradip Sahu of Purunagarh and Jitendra Biswal barged into the district forest office and had an altercation with the officials over some issue.
The incident took an ugly turn when the duo started attacking Nayak and other staff present inside the office. The spectacle of the ACF was broken in the scuffle.
Following the incident, the officials concerned filed a complaint at Angul police station. They also requested for police protection.
Basing on the allegation, police have detained the accused. An inquiry is on to ascertain the exact reason behind the attack.
