Sundargarh: Vigilance sleuths on Monday arrested Assistant Clerk (Offence Section) of Sundargarh DFO, Srikant Hota for taking Rs 10,000 bribe from a complainant.
According to the complaint who alerted the Vigilance, Hota had demanded the bribe money to process a file for release of compensation amount which he was entitled to following the death of his father in elephant attack in 2019.
The Vigilance officials seized the bribe money from Hota and a case has been filed under Section 7 PC Amendment Act 2018.
Meanwhile, simultaneous searches have been launched Hota’s property at two places in Sundargarh district.
